Slovak Post. On the site of the old Hungarian Royal Post Office from 1908, a new modern post office building was built by the state between 1938 and 1940 according to the architectural design of Juraj Tvarožek, who is generally known as a master of functionalism. It follows the plan of a rounded plot on a gentle slope with an entrance at the corner with a projecting staircase. The architect combined plastered mass with ceramic tiles and for the plinth he used the typical Slovak stone Spišský travertín, which gives the building a solid foundation. The building still serves the purpose for which it was built and is an important building at the intersection of Sládkovičova and Hurbanovo Streets.
