Folkman House. The house on the corner of Bottova Street originally belonged to the Harhovský family, who took care of an important personality from Žilina's history - the printer Jan Dadan the Younger. Žilina residents call the house Folkmanovský because from 1881 the house was owned by hotelier Pavel Folkman. There was also a popular UHU bar, where a famous black dancer originally from the USA, living in Paris, performed under the artistic name Josephine Bakerova. The house is distinctive in the town for its unique copper turret, which bears a flag bearing the date August 11, 1886. This is the date of one of the biggest fires in Žilina, in which almost all the houses on Marianske námestie, including this house, were destroyed.
