Bench on Husna hill

The bench at the top of Husna Hill. From Turčianske Teplice, the yellow hiking trail leads through the village of Háj to Husný vrch. This hill, which has an altitude of seven hundred and seventy-five metres, offers magnificent views. From here you can see almost two thirds of Turiec, Little Fatra, the striking Drieňok and the distant Krížna in Veľká Fatra. We can also enjoy the views sitting here. On the top of Husný vrch there is an original bench. It is double-sided and has a bell in its centre. It is a reminder that the sound of bells is often heard in this area from spring to autumn. Husný vrch is a part of the vast grassy Čremošnianské lazy. Herds of sheep graze on the surrounding meadows and hillsides. Behind the hill, in the direction of Banská Bystrica, lies the Polun cheese factory. There you can buy healthy sheep's milk products. Thanks to the rich flora and clean environment, local beekeepers also thrive here. The unusual bench on Husna Hill is an ideal place to watch the sunset. If the weather is good, the experience from here is unforgettable. Just a few metres from the bench is a signpost with a plaque with the local name of the hill. This signpost was placed here by the members of the First Hikers' Club of Diviaky, in their free time. The yellow hiking trail continues further - it leads through the Čremošnianské lazy to the Žarnovická valley. This valley is interesting not only for its nature, but also for its history. It was here that the last meeting of the illegal Slovak National Council and the military headquarters took place on the twenty-seventh of July in the year one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, just before the declaration of the Slovak National Uprising. It was at this point that further political and military steps were decided. In memory of this event, a memorial log cabin of the Slovak National Uprising stands in the valley today. The bench on Husný vrch can also be reached directly from the village of Čremošné. It is a pleasant walk in a beautiful natural environment.
