Bench on Ondrašov rock

The bench on the Ondrašov rock is an attractive Turčianska sightseeing site. Without hesitation, we can label it in this category as a "top viewpoint". Nevertheless, there is no marked hiking trail leading to it. However, you can reach the cliff by following the marked nature trail that leads from Polerieka up to the Zniev hill. Unfortunately, even this sign needs to be renewed to make it more visible in the terrain. Ondrašovská rock is located in the northern part of the Žiar Mountains, at its eastern foot, at the contact with the Turčianska basin. The rock is most easily reached from the village of Ondrašová. As we have already mentioned, the route is not marked with a tourist sign and so it will serve you very well if you have a map or GPS navigation with you. The ascent from the end of Ondrašová takes about an hour. The hike to the Ondrašová rock is one of the easier ones, suitable also for people with weaker condition or for children. For the average hiker it is a pleasant walk. The views from the bench on the Ondrašová rock are stunning! As if on the palm of your hand you can see almost the entire Turčianska basin. You can also see the Veľká Fatra and the mountains of the Kremnické vrchy and Mala Fatra. You will be able to see the individual villages scattered among the fields, meadows and groves all over the Turčianska basin. Below you can see Ondrašová and to the right of it Abramová, also with the iconic church of St. Kozma and Damian on the Kostolec hill. You can also see towns like Turčianske Teplice or Martin. The added advantage is that for most of the day you will have the sun on your right or behind your back, so you won't have to worry about the unpleasant backlight that greatly reduces the experience of the views.
