Bench near Moskovci. On the slope on the northern outskirts of the village of Moškovec there is a bench with a picturesque view of Veľká Fatra. The trio of rocky hills - Tlstá, Ostrá and Drienok can be clearly seen. From the bench, romantics can watch the sun rise in the morning from behind the mountains and light up the sky with its first rays. This Fatra mountain relief forms the backdrop to the scenery. In the foreground we can see the beautiful, winding meanders of the Turiec. Behind them are Blažovce and Blažovský vrch with a quarry. The Turiec River is one of the few European rivers that have retained the character of a natural river to this day. It is an impressive ecosystem of a foothill river with preserved vegetation, trees, scrub vegetation and adjacent wet meadows, bogs in the floodplain. The Turiec is a National Nature Reserve along its course. It is a protected area with the occurrence of several species of birds, fish and other animals. Together with several tributaries, it conditions the existence of adjacent wetlands. In 1998 these were classified as Ramsar sites, i.e. on the List of Wetlands of International Importance. In spring, one can also observe from the bench how the Turiec River just in the vicinity of Moškovec spills out of its banks and floods the surrounding meadows. It is an interesting part of the regular annual cycle of life of this beautiful river. The landscape behind the bench is also worth a look. The impressive scenery with fields and fields of waving grain is bordered by the mountains of Mala Fatra. A pleasant dirt road that leads past the bench will soon take you to Moškovec.
