Bench in the Grove

The bench in the Grove. In the village of Háj, the trail through the Turčianska Kingdom of Bees and Clear Water begins. Along the route, pleasant resting places with benches are gradually created, which materialize the stories and characters from the fairy tale book The Elf Spring from the Turčianska Garden. The local bench is dedicated to the wise Aunt Owl and her daughter Owl. They live in a grove above the village. Pramienok the Elf and his friends like them very much because they are wise. They always give them good advice. They know all the medicinal herbs and know which one to use for which illness. If you walk quietly in the groves above the Grove you will surely see Aunt Owl and Owlet there. And maybe you'll meet Pramienek the gnome and his friends. The resting place with a bench is located just a few metres from the historically valuable Roman Catholic church from 1381, completed in 1454. In the centre of the Baroque altar from the end of the seventeenth century is the image of St. Cosmas and St. Damian, to whom the church is dedicated. The pulpit also dates from the Baroque period. Much older is the fifteenth-century Gothic stone font. Háj lies 2 km east of Turčianske Teplice. A road leads along the village to the picturesque foothill village of Čremošné. From there you can reach the Čremošnianské lazy with magnificent views of Turiec. And you will also find two very nice benches there. From Turčianske Teplice, there is also a yellow marked hiking trail on the right side of the Háj to Húsný vrch and Čremošnianské Lazy. From there, the yellow marked trail continues to the Žarnovická valley.
