Ján Kollár Museum
Mošovce
Listen to the guide
The Ján Kollár Museum in Mošovce stands on the original site where his birth house used to be. After a fire in 1863, only the granary, which served as a memorial room, was preserved. Since 2009, a replica of the original house has stood here. The entrance to the museum starts in the original granary and passes to the next part - a small kitchen with period drawings of Ján Kollár's family home. Other rooms map the work and key moments in the life of the famous Slovak politician, poet, writer, evangelical priest and representative of the Czech and Slovak national revival.
