Krupina

Listen to the guide

One of the most beautiful buildings in Krupina is the Roman Catholic Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. This Romanesque three-nave basilica was built by German colonists at the beginning of the 13th century. The church burnt down in the 17th century and later underwent extensive reconstruction. The main altar, along with others, was consecrated by the Bishop of Belgrade in 1715. Later, Baroque vestibules were added to the church and the entire façade was unified. The last major reconstruction was in 1926.
