Statue of Andrej Sládkovič

The author of the memorial is academic sculptor Fraňo Štefunko. He created the work in his studio in Martin in 1957. The inscription SLÁDKOVIČ was carved by a local master stonemason. The opening ceremony was attended by actors from the Slovak National Theatre in the presence of the Minister of Education. Since then, the area behind the walls has been named Andrej Sládkovič Park.
