Krupina
Listen to the guide
The Cage of Shame was a part of the historical square of Krupina in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It was placed near the town hall in order to punish and expose wrongdoers or petty thieves to shame. However, the striga or bosses who were tried by the Krupina magistrate 300 years ago were burnt outside the city walls. The cage disappeared in the first half of the 19th century. The current form of the cage is an ideal copy from 2020, which was made by Krupina's master blacksmith Branislav Zelman according to a drawing.
